Grand Opening Prep // Mobile Love

I've been working hard perfecting (or at least trying to) my mobiles and assembly, getting business cards, photographing (mediocre, I must admit), and so much more! I'm glad to finally say that I feel that I am just about ready to officially open up shop! But I'm not quite there yet.

In the mean time I wanted to show a few sneak peeks at what I've been doing, I apologize for the many cell phone quality shots, and show off some seriously amazing mobiles that inspired me to go through with my own business!

Without further adieu...

I opened up shop, Tumbleweeds & Snowflakes, and wrote a bit under the About tab there!

My home office space, thanks to IKEA! By the way, I'm loving my Rue Rococo prints on the wall.

How awesome are my business cards!? Pretty Paper Party custom made them!

Yes, that's right, I have opened my Etsy shop, feel free to check it out here! I do have a few one-of-a-kind items for sale while I get things up for the grand opening.

And now for some amazing mobiles (and some other great inspirations) made by some amazing people (in no particular order)!!

1. Baby Jives

Seriously, how amazing is this mobile? She's always coming up with new and amazing ideas. My mind is blown! How do you make such gorgeous creations and get them to hang? I'm amazed.

2. The Alison Show

Leather mermaids. How cool right? I loved her original triangle mobiles, but I'm head over heels for her mermaid mobiles! I'm just a sucker for mermaids.

3.  Candy Kirby Designs

This woman, has twin girls and a son under a year old. She inspires me! She makes the cutest leggings and is now expanding her shop to include everything from skirts to crib sheets. If a mother of three can run a successful business, I'm convinced I can too!

5. Freshly Picked

To think, these amazingly successful moccs started out with a mom trying to find a pair of shoes that not only looked and felt great on her kid's feet, but also stayed on. I can honestly say, that these are my favorite pair of shoes to put on my daughter and totally worth the splurge!

6. Gussy Sews

New mommy to a beautiful little boy, and she is expanding her shop to include totes/diaper bags! Not only are these cute, but they're really affordable!

A lot of these businesses are run by moms. Whether they have one kid, young kids, older kids, etc. they're all in a different place with their businesses and I am completely inspired by their hard work and dedication to their business! If these moms can work from home with kids running around, I know I can too!

Thank you ladies for inspiring me! I'm so looking forward to officially opening up my own business and I hope that one day I'll be as successful as you all are!

Stay tuned for an update of the Tumbleweeds & Snowflakes grand opening!!

2013 Home Inspiration

Have you ever had an itch you can't scratch? Lately I've been itching to unpack, have my own place, and decorate. Has it really only been two and a half months since we moved out of our home? It feels like longer. Don't get me wrong, I'm so grateful that we have family we can stay with! Its just not our own space. You try fitting the bare minimum you need for a baby, yourself, and your spouse in one room.

I've been on Pinterest a lot lately, which only makes this itch worse! There are so many beautiful homes and brilliant projects that are just calling my name.

I mean, gorgeous, great ideas, right? I'm in love! There's so much more here! Can we have our own home? Please, please, please, please?? I didn't even get to decorate for the holiday season this year. I have a feeling that we have a lot of great changes coming in 2013!

I wish I were more handy with Photoshop, but since I'm not, here's a regular 'ol list of things I'd like to accomplish in our, currently imaginary, home for 2013:

1. Sell Dining Room table set & buy new one.
2. Get rug for family room.
3. Sell Master Bedroom furniture set & buy new one.
4. Re-do Aubrey's room.
5. Buy new pots & pans.
6. Buy new dishes.
7. Buy new washer & dryer.
8. Sell faux leather sofa and buy IKEA Sofa
9. Get new comforter for master bedroom.
10. Buy new entertainment system.

We're not made of money, so I'm determined to find a way to make things happen on a budget. I know its possible!

Happy (almost) New Year!
